Dinner tonight is SideBerns a great little restaurant walking distance from home. Roomy's birthday tomorrow.
We've been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while, so it was fun testing it out. We have heard lots of good things about it, but have never made it a mile down the street. Well let me tell you it was the most amazing meal ever. We ordered a nice bottle of wine that was very tasty.

My dinner consisted of a cold starter which was a beet salad that was very tasty, my main course was a hot starter off the veterinarian menu which was the truffle morel risotto, OMG I should have taken a picture. There were silver dollar sized paper thin shaved truffles on top, and tasty bits of morels and fresh sweet peas in the risotto. I can say it was probably the most fabulous meal I've ever had. Andrea (roomy) had a hot starter, the duck confit ravioli and her main meal was the Alaskan Halibut , I didn't try the duck, but I did get a taste of the halibut and it was very tasty as well, they did a very nice job of cooking the fish to perfection.
Oh and then because it was a birthday we decided to split a desert called a s'more, not any s'more I've every had, it consisted of a large homemade marshmallow over a dense chocolate tart with crumbled gram-crackers and roasted figs with a drizzling of a sweet thai chili. Not too overwhelming!
All in all it got a five star rating from us. Oh and counting calories forget it....
